My name is Temitope Steven-Mark, and I joined Saviours Assembly in 2024. I want to bless the name of the Lord who has brought me into a season of inheritance.
At the beginning of this year, my landlord suddenly increased our house rent by 100 percent. It was a huge jump, and honestly, I didn't know how I was going to cope. I tried to negotiate, hoping the rent would be reduced. At some point, I even offered to pay in instalments, but I got no clear response.
During our seven-day fasting and prayer in July, one of my prayer points was that God should intervene and at least cause the landlord to reduce the rent. The fasting ended on Sunday, July 6th, and something remarkable happened immediately after.
On Monday, July 7th, my former neighbor — who used to live upstairs in the same building before relocating abroad — suddenly reached out to me and asked, "Would you like to move upstairs?"
To give a little background: before they relocated abroad last year, I had once indicated interest in moving upstairs. The upstairs apartment is more spacious, has no water issues, while downstairs we sometimes had water problems and damp walls. At that time, they told me they were not fully out of the house because they might want to visit at any time. Later, I also got to know that they were paying higher rent upstairs than what we paid downstairs. Once I heard that, I completely let go of the idea.
So when he called me that Monday — after the fasting — and asked again, I told him honestly that I would love to move upstairs, but I didn't think I could afford it, especially because my rent downstairs had already been increased by 100 percent, and theirs upstairs was also higher. He said, "Okay, I'll get back to you."
To my surprise, the very next day, Tuesday, he sent me a payment receipt. When I saw it, I was confused and wondered what it was about. I immediately called him, and he told me, "That is your house rent." He had gone to pay a full year's rent on my behalf.
At that moment, I remembered a declaration Papa made earlier this year — that we would experience ownership without purchase, and that many of the things we had been saving for, God would give to us on a platter of favor. To the glory of God, that word came to pass in my life.
Not only did God answer my prayer — He exceeded it. Most of the things I had been saving for, I didn't just get them; I got them in multiples. In fact, when I moved upstairs, I had to give out almost everything I owned downstairs, because I moved into a fully settled apartment with almost everything already available. God settled everything perfectly.
Indeed, God did not just reduce the rent — He changed my level completely. I return all the glory, honor, and praise to God.
Has God done something amazing in your life?
"Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you."
